Calorimeter Cup - Polystryene

Very economical way to do calorimetry, sometimes called a coffee cup calorimeter.

This polystyrene cup has a lid that can be closed. The user fills the cup with a known volume of water and then inserts a thermometer through the lid. When a chemical reaction occurs, the heat of the reaction is absorbed by the water, and the change in temperature is used to calculate the heat that has been absorbed.
