Description
Set of 4 Density Cubes with Hooks - Brass, Copper, Aluminum & Steel
Solid density cubes with 32mm (1.25") sides. Including the hook, each cube measures 2" in height. Aside from the Steel cube, each features a stamped element for easy identification.
Excellent for physics classrooms. This versatile set is ideal for studying density, and specific heat without using Lead. Included instruction manual gives a background on density, specific gravity, and specific heat. In addition, the manual includes three student activities with capture sheets and a lab practical quiz. Density Cubes have a wide range of educational applications for all grade levels, including density investigation, specific heat and specific gravity exploration. Since these cubes are equipped with hooks, they can be easily lifted from water. Additionally, the hooks allow the cube to be easily massed using a spring scale. Cubes have a mass between 50 grams and 400 grams, so a 5.0 to 1.0 Newton spring scale will work perfectly (See B00ARJOS8Y - not included).

Due to the nature of raw metals, some oxidation or corrosion due to humidity and storage may occur. Simply scuff any oxidation off to make cube look brand new again. These density cubes are designed to be used in an educational setting and are not fabricated using ultra high precision machining. Expect tolerances in the +/- 5% range of any stated dimensions (although they are generally much tighter).

The Eisco Labs Density Investigation series is designed to help students identify and figure out mass, understand the relationship between mass/volume/density, understand specific heat and specific gravity, and other introductory physics and chemistry concepts.
