Description
  • ARGILLACEOUS SHALE | Shale is formed from the cementation and lithification of very small grains of rock, commonly mud or clay. The small clast size indicates that though the grains had been heavily eroded, the rock formed in a low energy environment
  • GREAT FOR GEOLOGY CLASSROOMS | Ideal for sedimentary rock identification & classification exercises due to argillaceous shale's recognizable fissile habit. This set of six samples is excellent for group study and examination
  • GEOLOGIST SELECTED | Each specimen is selected and hand processed by an actual geologist, ensuring each sample exhibits defining features
  • LOCALLY PROCESSED | Our rock and mineral samples are sourced from a variety of locations around the world and are processed in Rochester, NY
