Innovating Science kit is used to study the properties of soaps and detergents, and has activities for examining similarities and differences in the properties of soap, hand dishwashing detergent, and machine dishwashing detergent. The kit includes experiments for testing pH, examining the effect of soap and detergent on the surface tension of water, and observing foaming ability, fat emulsification, and the performance of soap and detergent in hard water. For hands-on learning, the kit has materials for 15 groups of students, including liquid soap, dishwashing detergent (hand and machine), vegetable oil, calcium chloride, disposable medicine cups, polystyrene test tubes, capillary tubes, graduated plastic pipettes, and universal indicator strips. Polystyrene (PS) is hard plastic with limited flexibility, that can be cast into molds and produced transparent or in various colors. The kit has a teacher's manual and student study guide copymasters for instructional use, and a safety data sheet (SDS) packet for product information and handling procedures. The kit is suitable for age 13 and older with adult supervision, and is not subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) shipping restrictions. Innovating Science products, manufactured by Aldon Corporation, include educational kits for the chemistry, life science, green chemistry, advanced placement chemistry, and forensic fields. Aldon Corporation was founded in 1964, and is headquartered in Avon, NY.What's in the Box?
