A fascinating and vivid demonstration of the power of redox (reduction-oxidation reaction) reactions. These are reactions that involve both a reduction AND oxidation process. Oxidation being the loss of electrons and reduction being the gain of electrons. In this experiment the user sprays a reactant on a colorless paper that has been pretreated with two diffferent chemicals and observes the resulting color changes. This demonstration also provides insights into how tho test for iron(II) and iron(III) ions in a solution.
