With this chemical demonstration kit from Innovating Science, students will observe the difference in solubility between two different silicate solutions. One solution is monovalent, and the silicate will readily remain ionized in solution. The divalent solution, on the other hand, will not. Pouring the divalent solution into the monovalent one will result in the formation of red and white donut-shaped precipitates. Works well as a demo or a small hands-on activity for a few groups of students. Instructions and material safety data sheets (MSDS) are included.
