Innovating Science chemistry demo kit is used to study the exothermic reaction process. The kit has activities for creating an endothermic reaction to monitor the change in temperature as the reaction occurs, and examining a commercial application, the instant heat pack. For hands-on learning, the kit has materials for 15 groups of students, including calcium chloride, plastic cups, stirring sticks, and bags containing iron powder, sodium chloride, calcium chloride, and vermiculite. The kit has a teacher’s manual and student study guide copymasters for instructional use, and a material safety data sheet (MSDS) packet for product information and handling procedures. The kit is suitable for age 13 and older with adult supervision, and is not subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) shipping restrictions.
